Mossberg Expands In Texas

O.F. Mossberg & Sons announced the completion of a major expansion at its Maverick Arms facility in Eagle Pass, Texas. With the new 116,000 square-foot addition, Mossberg’s manufacturing and distribution capabilities have now increased significantly in Texas.

Mossberg’s corporate headquarters and some manufacturing remain in North Haven, Connecticut, where the company has been located since 1919. Said Mossberg CEO Iver Mossberg, “Investing in Texas was an easy decision. It’s a state that is not only committed to economic growth but also honors and respects the Second Amendment and the firearm freedoms it guarantees for our customers.”

“This (Texas Enterprise Fund) investment in Maverick Arms will help create jobs and opportunity in Eagle Pass, while reaffirming Texas’ longstanding support of the Second Amendment,” stated Gov. Rick Perry.

The Texas Enterprise Fund (TEF) provides the state’s leaders with a “deal closing fund” that has the flexibility and financial resources to help strengthen the state’s economy. The fund can be used for a variety of economic development projects including infrastructure and community development, job training programs, and business incentives. Before funds can be awarded, the governor, lieutenant governor, and speaker must unanimously agree to support the use of the TEF for each specific project. It’s used primarily to attract new business to the state or assist with the substantial expansion of an existing business as part of competitive recruitment.
