The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department reminds you that all current year Texas hunting and fishing licenses (except the year-to-date fishing license) expire the end of August, and new licenses for 2019-20 go on sale Thursday, Aug. 15.

Since the July 9, 2019 update, anthrax has been detected on three additional premises in southwest Sutton County and one premises in south central Crockett County. The Texas Animal Health Commission quarantined the premises after animals tested positive for the reportable disease.

Hunters for the Hungry is a statewide hunger relief program that provides venison to Texans in need. Through the program, hunters can drop off legally tagged, field-dressed whitetail or mule deer to participating meat processors. Partner processors then prepare the venison for distribution through local food banks.
