City Kids Adventures

City Kids Adventures, formerly known as Camp Hawkeye, originated in 1995 as a inner-city middle school project designed to increase participation in the whole school environment. Camping was used as an incentive to encourage the students to participate in school and athletics, thereby avoiding nonproductive behavior.

Over the years we have continued to grow and diversify our program. We introduced a youth hunting program in 1999 and a summer traveling program in 2000, which has included trips to Alaska, New York City, Washington DC, The Grand Canyon, Key West, Yale, Harvard, UNC, Duke, UT, Yellowstone, Niagara Falls, etc.

Today, through partnerships with several sponsors, we are not only exposing youth to camping but also hunting, fishing, traveling, college tours, career investigation and numerous self-esteem building activities (youth assistance program).
