TPWD Approved Online Hunter Ed Course

by |
Hunters who need to complete a Texas hunter safety course before getting their hunting license now can get started on their official certification from hunter-ed.com. The course is approved by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and is the only online hunter education course that features award-winning videos and is designed to be taken on any device, including mobile phones.
“Students can expect a dynamic education online,” said Robert Ramirez, hunter education administrator for TPWD. “Between the Texas-approved content, videos, animations and other features, students learn all the same need-to-know information in this online course.”
The website features hunter safety videos that are designed to be fun to watch while presenting important safety information. These short videos cover safety topics such as treestand hunting safety, firearms safety, hunting from a ground blind, effectiveness of blaze orange, and more.
Students also can take the course on a smartphone, tablet, e-reader, laptop or Internet TV. The course pages will automatically adjust to fit any device with no app required so the videos, graphics and animations are always easy to see. Plus, students can log in and out of the course, and their progress will be saved. This allows students to study and complete the course at their own pace.
To complete the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s hunter education requirements, Texas law requires anyone 9 to 16 years of age to pass both the online and field day portions of the Texas hunter education course. Students 17 years of age or older can complete the Texas hunter certification exam online in order to complete the hunter education requirements.  For more information on Texas laws and regulations, or to start a course, visit hunter-ed.com/texas/.
