Hunting is becoming a rich mans sport. Those of us who can't afford $3K plus yrly are really having to search high and low for a good spot. Luckily I have a place this yr for $1250. |

It is expensive. What's the solution?I find that when I do locate a decent lease, I can't get a group together to commit. |

That is the goal. Make hunting so expensive the average man cannot afford it. Think how bad it will be 5, 10, 20 years from now. If your passion is hunting and you are spending that kind of money to do it, you better buy land, or you will be completely priced out of the outdoors. Eurasion hogs, a kin to the Russian boar has taken over Europe and desimates their crops, and nobody is left with a gun or enough money to afford to hunt them. Sad, but that is my humble opinion. |

You should check out the classified ads on this website (and in the Journal). These are posted by TTHA members and offer some fairly reasonably priced leases. And there are more ads for hunting leases on the "Guides/Leases/Outfitters" page. |

Lease prices are getting ridiculous. There are some decent priced leases out there but some out getting out of hand. We have people asking for $15-20k for 500 acres. Then the owners want 6 guns on a 500 acre property. They try to entice people by dividing the price up by the gun. As a whole the lease is well overpriced. Who wants to hunt 500 acres with 5 other people. Someone is bound to get shot!!! Then you have the luxury leases for more than $6000/gun to well over $10,000/gun. That is definitely a rich person's sport. I love hunting but I don't think I can see myself spending $10,000 even if I had it. |

Agree. The lease prices are skyrocketing. Missing the old days of handshake agreements. |
