Chapter History

The first College Chapter of TTHA was founded in 2001 at Texas A&M (TAMU). The Chapter had a slow start but quickly grew momentum in 2002 with the help of new leadership and guidance from community leaders like Dr. Justin Gayle of Brush Country Camo. Since that time, the Chapter has grown to become the largest TTHA College Chapters and one of the most popular student organizations on campus. The TTHA-TAMU Chapter welcomes any student, alumni, faculty member and loyal TAMU fan to join their organization. The Chapter is very dedicated to serving others in and around the A&M community, especially hunters, or would-be hunters, that are in need. Remarkably, the student-run Chapter has donated close to $100,000.00 over the past six years to various charity groups and community outreach programs. Organizations that have received financial contributions from TTHA-TAMU include: 4-H/FFA Shooting Sports, Operation Orphans, Jerry Johnston Endowed Scholarship (TAMU), Brazos Valley Outdoor Youth Association, Still Creek Boys and Girls Ranch, Ducks Unlimited, and Coastal Conservation Association. In addition to other fun social events hosted by the Chapter, including skeet shoots and golf tournaments, the Chapter also hosts an annual fall fundraising banquet. $5 of every TTHA College Chapter Membership goes directly to the respective chapter for their fundraising efforts and community service.
